These terms describe how consultations, payments and cancellations work. They are a working document and should be reviewed with legal counsel before launch.
AVEL Wellness is a technology platform that enables scheduled online consultations between users and independent, registered medical practitioners. AVEL Wellness does not itself provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and does not guarantee any particular outcome from a consultation. Consultations are provided in accordance with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020 issued under the authority of the National Medical Commission.
Doctors listed on the platform are independent practitioners and are not employees, partners, or agents of AVEL Wellness. AVEL Wellness is not responsible for the clinical judgment, advice, or treatment provided by any doctor.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AVEL Wellness's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the platform shall not exceed the consultation fee paid for the specific consultation giving rise to the claim. AVEL Wellness is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of independent doctors.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AVEL Wellness, its officers, and personnel from claims arising out of your breach of these terms, misuse of the platform, or provision of inaccurate information during a consultation.
AVEL Wellness acts as an intermediary connecting users with independent doctors and, subject to applicable law, is entitled to the protections available to intermediaries under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
You must be old enough to consent to medical treatment in your state, or have a parent/guardian's involvement, to use this platform. Accounts may be suspended for misuse or inaccurate information.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [—————] shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
This platform is designed for scheduled, non-emergency consultations only. If you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, including but not limited to chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness, or thoughts of self-harm, do not use this platform call 112 or 108 immediately or go to the nearest emergency department.
The platform connects students with doctors for scheduled online consultations. You must provide accurate information for the consultation, even in anonymous mode.
Consultations are scheduled and asynchronous. Do not use this platform for medical emergencies; contact local emergency services instead.
Consultation fees are shown before booking. Refund requests are reviewed by the platform administrators and processed against the original payment.
You may cancel an upcoming appointment from your dashboard. Cancellations close the slot and, where applicable, start a refund review.
Prescriptions are issued at the discretion of the consulting doctor and are visible only to you, the issuing doctor, and authorised administrators.
